About Sharon

I am passionate about supporting individuals to better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges and move towards greater emotional wellbeing, balance and self-empowerment.

My approach is grounded in empathy, respect and collaboration with a strong belief that each person has the capacity for growth and meaningful change when supported in a safe and non-judgemental space.

My long-standing interest in psychology, personal growth and holistic wellbeing continues to shape both my professional development and the compassionate, holistic approach I bring to my practice.

Professional Journey

My interest in psychology, human behaviour and wellbeing began with my Bachelor of Social Science-Psychology degree where I developed a strong foundation in understanding mental health and emotional wellbeing. I later completed a Graduate Diploma in Counselling which strengthened my clinical skills and deepened my commitment to person-centred and trauma-informed practice.

My professional background spans counselling, community services and mental health support across both clinical and organisational settings. Through my work with Mission Australia, Uniting and Lifeline I gained valuable experience supporting individuals experiencing complex mental health and social challenges. These experiences reinforced the importance of empathy, collaboration and meeting people where they are in their journey.

Across my broader experience within the mental health and wellbeing sector, I have developed a strong foundation in active listening, compassionate care and supporting people through a wide range of life challenges.

Alongside my counselling practice, I am also a qualified Reiki Practitioner having completed Usui Reiki Levels 1 and 2. I offer Professional Counselling and Reiki as separate services recognising that each person has unique needs, preferences and wellbeing goals.

My Philosophy

Alongside my professional journey my personal experiences have also shaped the practitioner I am today. Like many people, I have experienced challenges that required me to seek support and develop greater self-understanding. Through these experiences I came to appreciate the value of both professional counselling and holistic approaches to wellbeing.

My own journey reinforced the importance of looking beyond symptoms and understanding the many factors that influence our emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. It also strengthened my belief that healing and personal growth are unique to each individual. These experiences inspired me to further my studies in psychology and counselling while also training as a Reiki practitioner. Together, they have shaped my holistic philosophy of care, one that recognises the connection between mind, body and spirit, while respecting each person's individual beliefs, values and lived experiences.

Today, I feel privileged to support others as they navigate life's challenges, discover their strengths and move towards greater wellbeing in a way that feels meaningful to them.

My Approach

My counselling approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, compassionate and collaborative. Working from a strengths-based perspective, I support and empower each person to gain insight, build on their existing strengths and move towards meaningful and lasting change.

I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, providing a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

Whether you choose Professional Counselling or Reiki, my aim is to provide a supportive environment where you feel heard, understood and empowered throughout your wellbeing journey.

Spirit in My Practice

At E-Spirit Holistic Wellbeing I view wellbeing as encompassing mind, body and spirit. For some people, "Spirit" relates to spirituality or faith, for others it may reflect meaning, purpose, connection or inner peace. My practice is inclusive and respectful of all beliefs, values and backgrounds.

Professional Counselling and Reiki are offered as separate services within a holistic framework that honours the whole person and recognises that wellbeing looks different for everyone.
